What's Important
I think there comes a time in every bride's journey when she feels like the wedding has become about so much more than what it should be about-the bride and groom. You worry about your family and the challenges and the drama you may face-will it ruin the experience? The wedding? Will everyone get along? You worry about how everyone will perceive your style-the decorations, the ceremony, etc.
But I think one thing that gets lost in all the commotion is the connection between you and your fiancé. This whole experience is supposed to be joyful, about just the two of you. But what happens when all the other stuff becomes too much? What happens when you get so wrapped up in everything else you forget about why you're there in the first place?
I've come to the conclusion, at that point you have to separate yourself from all the mess and drama and enjoy your fiancé and this experience. This amazing experience that comes around (we hope) only once in a lifetime. I've never met a more amazing man-caring, compassionate, loving, willing to jump in to save me at a whim...that love, that unconditional love is what this is all about. No questions, no limitations, no requirements, just love. And I am so lucky, no blessed, to have found the man of my dreams.
So I push forward on this journey, as unpredictable as it may be, at least I know one thing...I have found my partner and my best friend for life, and that's all that matters.

Wow, I needed this great reminder. Thank you for sharing this. I didn't expect myself to get caught up with the wedding details and lost sight of the entire point of being engaged - enjoying it w/ my fiance and getting to know him at a different level during this short season of our life. I truly love this part: "So I push forward on this journey, as unpredictable as it may be, at least I know one thing...I have found my partner and my best friend for life, and that's all that matters." Thank you again for sharing this! Wish you well on your engagement process!
Great
