Crunch Time

Crunch Time

Less than three months till my wedding and I feel like it was just yesterday that Josh popped the question on the top of our mountain.Talk of babies and future plans of our new found family hang in the air, while I finalize details such as what type of lace trim I want for my veil, wha t bible verses my fiance and I would like to be used in our ceremony and where in the world I will find the “right” shoes to match my dress. As much as I am overwhelmed I feel in a state of bliss for what feels like the first time throughout the whole process. Maybe a calming before the storm? Josh finalized our details for our honeymoon today and I can’t wait to spend five days in a beach-side rental property in Rio Del Mar with my new soon-to-be hubby.

I think one of my favorite parts of this whole process is the additional time I’m getting to spend with my family and my future family. My father and I spent a day picking out flowers at Paula’s Family Florist, while my future mother-in-law helped me work through the rehearsal dinner plans. It’s amazing how creative and how helpful people become. You truly realize and learn who is meant to be in your life. This weekend I get to spend the day with my mother, god-mother, and family friends putting together invitations, table numbers and ceremony fans.

I just have to interject and say that DIY projects are the BEST things to truly incorporate who you are into the ceremony. My table numbers are our engagement photos put on wine bottles that I created and the ceremony fans incorporate adorable activities for guests during the ceremony. (seethe design I borrowed here: http://www.intimateweddings.com/blog/easy-diy-wedding-programs-tutorial/)Ieven created my own garter from the $2 garters at Joann Fabrics, with a little added flair on my part.

My not so favorite part? Getting in shape! I think one of the bride’s worst fears is that she won’t fit in her dress. So I have been kicking my own butt at the gym and running about three or four miles a day four times a week. You have to do, what you have to do.

In another couple weeks, I will be deciding the final details during my appointment at my Wedgewood location in Brentwood. I’m so excited. I mean, really excited. I’m marrying my best friend in less than three months. And what’s funny is all of the little details, as much as they are important right now, won’t matter in another four months. What will matter is that I married my best friend and the love of my life. Who knew when I walked into a bar almost four years ago, I would walk out with the person I would be spending the rest of my life with. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
